South Africa: BEE Players Spreading Themselves Thin – Absa

Johannesburg — A LACK of broad-based black economic empowerment partners and entrepreneurs’ tendency to stretch themselves too thinly are some of the reasons financial institutions refuse to fund transactions, an Absa representative said yesterday.

 Speaking at a Black Management Forum seminar in Kempton Park, Absa head of empowerment financing George Sebulela said there were “generic problems” that led to the rejection of empowerment entrepreneurs’ finance applications. read more here
